RESOLUTION NO. 988
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
COMMENDING W. G. CARLSON
WHEREAS, W. G. Carlson served as a member of the Saratoga Parks and Recreation
Commission from March 1974 to May 1980; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Carlson served as Chairman of the Commission for four years; and
WHEREAS, during GiS tenure on the Commission there was considerable growth in
Saratogals parks; and
WHEREAS, Mr, Carlson was instrumental in obtaining volunteer help and contribu-
tions toward the development of Brookglen Park; and
WHEREAS, he provided input to the design and development of Foothill Park,
Phase II and II of E1 Quito Park, and the Azule Pathway; and
WHEREAS, G was of tremendous assistance in the task of determining a method of
restoration of Hakone Gardens and saw the initiation of the construction project; and
WHEREAS, G participated in the preparation of the Master 'Plan for Congress Springs
Pa rk and p roposa 1 s fo r deve 1 opmen t of Phase I;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Saratoga thanks W. G. Carlson for his
cont r i but i on to his corrmun i, ty; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City and residents commend him for his untiring
efforts on behalf of development of parks in Saratoga.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
