HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1060 Resolution No. 1060 A RESOLUTION OF THE COLI~2IL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT OF SERVICE CHARGE TO BE IMPOSED FOR RESPONSE TO FALSE POLICE ALARMS WHEREAS, the number of reported false police alarms has bee rising and now represents a substantial financial burden upon the City, costing an estimated $49,000 in 1981-82; and WIIEREAB, the City Cotmcil desires to continue providing the service of immediate police response to police alarms but finds that in order to do so recovery of costs for false alarms must be initiated; and WHEREAS, the City Council also deems it an unfair burden upon the general public to pay for the cost of responding to avoidable false alarms; and WHEREAS, the City Council has introduced an ordinance to establish a service charge for the recovery of costs associated with the response to false police alarms, which ordinance provides that the amount of the service charge be set by resolution of the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED that the amount of the service charge provided in Section 10.38 of Ordinance No. 38.105 shall be $35.00 per incident. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regu3.ar meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 3rd day of March , 1982, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Clevenger, Jensen, Mallory NOES: Councilmenber Watson and Mayor Callon Mayor ATTEST: 'Deputy City
