saved the lives of two other members of his troop in a canoing accident on
the Russian River in the spring of this year; and
WHEREAS, Sean made the rescue a~ter being s~Bpt into the turbulent
and swollen rapids by swi~da~ back up ~ river to save the other young men,
WHEREAS, Sean perf~ his heroic act at the peril of his own life,
and carried it through under very difficult circumstances; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Saratoga are most grateful to Sean and
believe that such unselfishness and courage must be publicly acknowledged end
oremended, so that others my be inspired by his exampied;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES(ILVED, that
SEAN G~OVT~
is hereby oump_r~ed by the City Council of the City of Saratoga, and he is
heartily thanked for his brave action to save the lives of two other young

of the Saratoga City Council on the t~h day of August, 1982 , by
