CONCERNING CANCER AWARENESS WEEK
WHEREAS, an estimated 126,000 American men and women will discover
they have cancer of the bowel this year, making it the second most
frequently occurring form of cancer~ and
WHEREAS, an estimated 58,000 Americans will die this year of bowel
cancer, although more than 75 percent of them could have been saved
by taking the hidden bleeding test; and
WHEREAS, wider knowledge of this test could save many lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that April 4-10 be declared
CANCER AWARENESS WEEK
in the City of Saratoga.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 6th
day of April , 1983, by the following vote:
