A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPOINT THE POSITION
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of this City Government to
make plans and other preparations for meeting the needs of the
community in the event of an emergency condition; and
WHEREAS, such plans and preparations should be kept up to date
and maintained in a state of readiness~ and
WHEREAS, the division of authority and responsibility of the
emergency response agencies serving Saratoga requires a large
degree of coordination of plans and efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City finds that such coordination and effort can
best be provided through the use of volunteer from within the
community, working under the direction of city officials;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
1. There is hereby established the position Emergency
Preparedness Coordinator, which position shall be
a "volunteer" position of the City of Saratoga, and
who shall be appointed by and serve under the dir-
ection of the City Manager.
2. The duties and responsibilities of the Emergency Pre-
paredness Coordinator are to be fixed and determined
by the City Manager, from time to time. The intent
of the position being to assist the City Manager with
the responsibilities and duties imposed upon that
office for development of emergency plans, and man-
agement of the emergency programs of the City.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 6th
day of .... Jul.y ..... , 1983, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmenbers Callon, Clevenger, Mallory and Mayor Moyles
