CONCERNING CALIFORNIA COWB~YI.ES ~ERF O00K-OFF DAY
WHEREAS, large animal agriculture and tourisn both play an important role
in the econcmy and the quality of life in the City of Saratoga; and
WHEREAS, the contribution of the Santa Clara County Cattlemen and CowBelles
to their' inaustry and to the community at large are well known and held in
high regard; and
WHEREAS, the California CowBelles will he holding its largest annual beef
prcxnotion project, The California Cc~Belles Beef Cook-Off, in the City of
Saratoga on June 23, 1984, at West Valley College; and
WHEREAS, this event will bring to Saratoga contestants, professional judges,
media personnel and other guests from all over the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Saratoga City Council affirms its
support for the beef cattle industry and its promotion; and
BE IT FuRTHER RESOLVED that the Saratoga City Council proclaims June 23,
1984, as California' Cc~Belles Beef Cook-Off Day.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council held on the 6th day of June, 1984, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callon, Clevenger, Fanelli, Mallory and Mayor Moyles
NOES: None
