DEEIARING YOUI~ APPRECIATION WEEK
WHEREAS, the vast majority of youth are c~ncerned, knowledgeable and
responsible citizens, and
WHEREAS, the acccmplis~nts and achievements of these young citizens
deserve recognition and praise of their' elders, and
WHEREAS, Optimist International has since 1954 developed and prcmoted
a program entitled Youth Appreciation Week, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Saratoga have indicated a desire to join with
the Opt/mists in' expressing appreciation and approval of the contributions
of youth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the. City Council of the City of
Saratoga proclaims the second week of November as Youth Appreciation
Week in Saratoga. By this'action, let' it be known that we have faith
in the ability of today' s youth as they assume responsible roles in
the future of mankind.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the
7th day of ~ , 1984, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callon and Moyles and Mayor Pro Ten Hlava
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Clevenger and Mayor Fanelli
