RESOLUTION OF T[~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA CONFIRMING CANVASS BY THE
REGISTRAR OF VOTERS OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY OF SPECIAL FJNICIPAL RI.RCTION
CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA GENERAL F.T~FCFION
~,n ON NOVEMBER 6, 1984
WHEREAS, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara has duly canvassed
the votes cast in the City of Saratoga (hereinafter called the "City") at the
special municipal electicn consolidated with the State of California General
Election held on November 6, 1984, in the City by the electors of the City upon
the measure hareinafter set forth, and has certified to this City Council the
result of the votes cast at said+ election upon said' measure, which said' certification
is' now on file in~the office of the city Clerk of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saratoga as
follows;
sect/on !. The canvass of votes by said Registrar of Voters as shown by said
certification and the result thereof is'hereby confirmed and approved.
Section 2. At said' election the following ordinance was suhnitted to the electors
of the-City, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50077 of the California Gov-
emt Code, and the number of votes cast in the City for and against said measure
was as follows:
MEASURE G: Shall the City of Saratoga be authorized TOTAL VOTES YES TOTAL VOTES NO
to levy a special tax for the exclusive purpose of
maintaining, resurfacing and repairing public streets 8,774 7,558
and roads within' the City, such tax to be imposed annually
for five (5)~ succeeding fiscal years beginning 1985-86,
at a rate not exceeding $80 for the first year and $100
per year thereafter in the case of residential, agricul-
tural, and vacant parcels, and not exceeding $160 for the
first year and $200 per year thereafter in' the case of
ccnmBrcial, industrial and instituticmal parcels?
Section 3. The total number of votes cast in the City at said special municipal
election and the total number of votes given in each precinct and by absentee
voters of the City for and against said'measure was and is set forth in said
carlvasB.
Section 4. Less than 2/3 of all the votes cast at said special municipal election'
on said~measure were in favor of said'measure, and said measure failed.
Section 5. City Clerk of the City is' hereby instructed to enter this resolution
on the minutes of this City Council as a statement of the result of said election.
The above and foregoing resolution was adopted at an adjourned regular meeting
of the City Council~of the City of Saratoga held on the 27th day of November, 1984,
by the following vote:
AYES: Counci~rs Clevenger, Hlava, MDyles and Mayor Fanelli

CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION RESULTS
STATE OF CALIFORNIA )
COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA )
I, George A. Mann, Registrar of Voters and Recorder of
the County of Santa Clara, State of California, do hereby certify
that at the General Election held on November 6, 1984, a Special
Municipal Tax Election consolidated therewith was held in the
City of Saratoga for the purpose of submitting Measure G to
the voters of said city;
That the official canvass of the returns of said election
was conducted by the office of the Registrar of Voters in accordance
with the appropriate provisions of the Elections Code of the
State of California; and
That hereto attached is a full, true and correct statement
of the votes cast at said Special Municipal Tax Election.
