WHEREAS, Russell Crowther was appointed to the Planning Commission in January
1981, and
WHEREAS, among his particular contributions to the Commission were participation
in the General Plan Revision, the Housing Element, the Design Review Ordinance,
and the Second Unit Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, as a Planning Ccmmissioner Russ has always shown his deep ccnmitment
to the preservation of Saratoga' s character, especially in the hillsides,
and has shown this conmi~IRent through his work on the HCRD and NHR ordinances,
and
WHEREAS, Russ has served the Ccnmlission thoughtfully and given the difficult
ethical questions always involved in the planning process his 'most serious
attention.
NOW, THEREEDRE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
expresses its sincere appreciation to
RUSSELT. CROWTHER
for his sustained efforts as a Planning Commissioner on behalf of the citizens
of Saratoga. We thank him and wish him luck as he pursues his professional
and other interests in Saratoga and beyond.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council'held on the sixth day of February, 1985, by the
· follc~ing vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Callow, Clevenger, Hlava, Foyles and Mayor Fanelli
