HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2216 RESOLUTION NO. 2216 COM~ENDING MARY J. MOSS FOR SERVICE ON THE LIBRARY COMMISSION WHEREAS, Mary J. Moss has retired from the Saratoga Library Commission after completing ten years on the Commission, and Mary has served as chair of the Commission for many years, and was a charter member of Friends of the Saratoga Libraries as well, and WHEREAS, while she has been on the Commission Mary has served wholeheartedly and energetically, and for that alone is worthy of praise, and WHEREAS, Mary has also parlayed her other deepest interests into means of ser- ving her community; through her interest in history she became a docent at the Historical Foundation Museum; through her interest in art she served on the Montalvo Gallery Committee for fifteen years, and through her interest in Sara- toga Presbyterian Church she served as a Sunday School Superintendent, food dispenser for FISH, wedding hostess and deacon, and WHEREAS, Mary has maintained a 'high level of activity by working on the Election Board, collecting for charities, serving on the Saratoga Foothill Club board, as well as pursuing her numerous hobbies. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that MARY J. MOSS is hereby proclaimed as a valuable cultural resource to the City of Saratoga, and she is commended for her years of untiring service to the community. While we hope that she plans to continue her hobby of travel to all corners of the world, we hope Mary spends enough time at home to continue to make her own contributions to life in Saratoga. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 6th day of March, 1985, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Callon, Clevenger, Hlava, Moyles and Mayor Fanelli NOES: None Signed: Virginia Laden Fanelli, Mayor AITEST: Signed: Grace E.
