CONCERNING OLDER AMERICANS M~TH
WHEREAS, the one hundred and forty thousand Santa Clara County residents who
have reached the-age of sixty represent one of our area' s greatest, but under-
utilized, resources; and
WHEREAS, the c~ntributions already made by this'generation of older persons
tD the betterment of life in'our cc~nunity are but a hint of their potential;
and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to call attention to older Americans' continuing
contributicns and to resolve that they enjoy rewarding, dignified lives in
the workplace and in' retirement; and
WHEREAS, the City shall provide opportunities and support older persons in
order for them to ccntinue their~ccmtribUtions to their cramunity.
NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
does hereby proclaim the nnnth of May, 1985, to be
in the City of Saratoga
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Saratoga at a meeting held on the 1st day of May, 1985, by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmeneers Clevenger, Hlava, Moyles and Mayor Fanelli
NOES: None
