A RF_,T~XAFrION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOC~
EEOSX~IZING THE SACRIFICE OF
IN THE PI~FII~CE OF HIS IlrrY TO SERVE AND PRGIF_L'T THE PUBLIC
MIERFAS, the City of Saratoga entrusts the safety of its citizens to the
Sheriff Deputies of Santa Clara County; and
WiIERFAS, the citizens of Saratoga share both the loss and the pride felt
by the law enforcement c~mmnity in the professional manner in which the
peace officers on-duty the night of June 8, 1986, fulfilled their oath to
protect the ccen~nity; and
WHERFAS, on the night of June 8, 1986, Deputy Douglas Miller made the
ultimate sacrifice to protect those he faithfully served.
NOW, ~, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Saratoga recognizes and acknowledges the debt owed by all citizens to the
sacrifice made by Sheriff Deputy Douglas Miller, and the sacrifice,
cunmitment and professional effort made by Saratoga's law enforcement
" ccemunity each day.
" The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 18th day of June, 1986,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councils Fanelli, Moyles, and Mayor Clevenger
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmenhers Callon and Hlava
