HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2373 Cinj af Sarataga RESOLUTION N0. 2373 A RESOLUTION OF THE SARATOGA CITY COUNCIL COMMENDING THE LATE FRAN LEWIS FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE ON THE SARATOGA PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION AND RECOGNIZING HIM FOR HIS NUMEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CAUSES HE BELIEVED IN WHEREAS, Fran Lewis was appointed as a charter member to the new Public Safety Commission on December 7, 1983, by the City Council; and WHEREAS, since his appointment, Fran Lewis faithfully served on the Commission until his passing in August of 1986, and as a result, made significant contributions in the areas of neighborhood watch, traffic safety, and public information; and WHEREAS, Fran Lewis had been elected to the office of Vice Chairman of the Commission by his fellow Commissioners and was serving in such capacity at the time of his passing; and WHEREAS, Fran Lewis also volunteered a considerable amount of time with other public service organizations including the American Heart Association, Variety Audio, and the Shriners; and WHEREAS, Fran Lewis was a resident of Saratoga for the past twenty-four years; and WHEREAS, through the efforts of Fran Lewis, the quality of life in Saratoga was improved significantly. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Saratoga that the Council recognizes the many meaningful " contributions Fran Lewis made to his community, and in behalf of all Saratoga residents, will always be grateful for Fran Lewis's many accomplishments. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the 17th day of September, 1986, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: MAYOR ATTEST: Deputy City Clerk
