P-E~LIEION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATO C~
DET~GA~ S~ AUTHORITY FC~ CERTAIN CLAIMS TO THE CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the City has entered into agreements for pooling of risk for general
and automotive liability through the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG)
with numerous other cities; and,
WHERF2~S, under the agreements entered into, claims management and settlement is
generally granted to the ABAG Plan I Gorporaticm as agent for ABAG; and
~, the Corporation has chosen to leave the adjustment and settlement of
claims for property damage only in amounts not to exceed 10% of the deductible
of the agency to the discretion of that agency; and
]~ttEREAS, in the case of the City of Saratoga this smount would be $2,500, and
WItERF_AS, Section 935.4 of the California Government Code allows the governing
body to delegate claims settlement authority of up to $20,000 to an individual
enployee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby delegates
settlement authority of $2,500 for property damage only claims to the City
Manager.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council held on thel7~h day of September, 1986, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Anderscm, Clevenger, MDyles, Peterson, and Mayor Hlava

ABSENT: None
