RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SARATOGA APPROVING A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE
PLANNING COMMISSION CONCERNING PROPOSED
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 86-002 AND ZONING
ORDINANCE AMENDMENT C-234
WHEREAS, Paul and Alice Duncan have applied to the City for a General
Plan amendment to change the land use classification upon their property located at
the southeast corner of Saratoga-Los Gatos Road and Glen Una Drive from RVLD
(residential, very low density) to medium density and to change the zoning
classification on such property from R-I-40,000 to R-1-12,500; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 1986, the Planning Commission conducted a
public hearing on said applications, at which time any person interested in the matter
was given an opportunity to be heard; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission by unanimous vote has recommended
to the City Council that the proposed amendment to the General Plan and the
proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance not be adopted; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed General Plan and Zoning
Ordinance amendments was conducted by the City Council on October 1, 1986, at
which time any person interested in the matter was given an opportunity to be heard;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the staff reports,
minutes of proceedings conducted by the Planning Commission relating to said
applications, and the written and oral evidence presented to the Council in support of
and in opposition to the applications,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Saratoga, at its
meeting on October 1, 1986, by a vote of 4-0, with Councilmember Moyles absent, did
resolve to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission that the General
Plan and Zoning classification of the property owned by the applicants should not be
changed and shall continue to be classified as residential, very low density, on the
General Plan and as R-i-40,000 on the Zoning Map.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 15th day of
October, 1986, by the following vote:
A YES: Councilmeters Anderson, Clevenger, Peterson and Mayor Hlava
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmenker MDyles
