RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
~ING BENNY PIERCE
WHEREAS, the California Coaches Association has named Benny Pierce of Saratoga
High School as 1987 High School Football Coach of the Year, and
WHEREAS, the Association considered the following in making this award: career
coaching performance, excellence in a specific sport, professional
contributions of time, service, and dedication to the coaching Fofession, and
WHEREAS, Ff~ Pierce has been head football coach at Saratoga High School since
the school opened in 1959, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Pierce is known as a good teacher, hard worker, and a good role
model, who sets high standards and has high expectations, both for himself and
for his students, and
WHEREAS, the Saratoga City Council is proud that a man of Mr. Pierce's caliber
coaches at Saratoga High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saratoga City Council commends Benny
Pierce and thanks him for the many years of work he has performed for Saratoga
High School students.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council held on the 17th day of June, 1987, by the
following vote:
AYES: Counc~s Anderson, Clevenger, MDytes, Peterson, and Mayor Hlava
