RESOLUTION NO. 2439
COMMENDING JOANNE CRANE
WHEREAS, Joanne Crane has been chosen by her peers as the
teacher from the Saratoga Union School District to be honored at
Teacher Recognition Day for excellence in presenting education to
her students, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Crane has earned this honor because of the
benefits she has brought to her fellow teachers, as well as to her
students, throughout her 25 years of teaching in this district,
and
WHEREAS, specifically, she has been instrumental in developing
the curriculum in science, writing, social studies and math, and
WHEREAS, she constantly updates her teaching methods by such
means as participating in the Teacher Expectation: Student
Achievement program, especially in critical thinking skills,
cooperative learning, direct instruction and instructional use of
computers, and
WHEREAS, as a result, her classroom is an exciting and
stimulating environment for learning, with students involved in
creative projects and gaining the skills to be independent
learners, and
WHEREAS, she shares her skills with other teachers as a mentor
teacher focusing on the area of math, and
WHEREAS, she has also assisted her fellow teachers by serving as
the teacher representative to the County Office ITV and
Educational Development Center, and as 1987 President of the
Saratoga Teachers Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that
JOANNE CRANE
is commended for her sustained record of accomplishments which
has resulted in her being named Teacher of the Year for the
Saratoga Union School District.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on the !6th
day of September, 1987, by the following vote:
