RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF IItE CITY OF SARATOGA
APPROVING POLICY ON IMPORTATION OF SOLID WASTE FROM OUTSIDE SANTA
CLARA CO[INI~ TO BE ADDED TO THE SOLID WASTE MAE PLAN FOR
SANTA CLARA OOIJNTY
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously concurred in the DrinciDles and
objectives of the Solid Waste Mm~ement Plan for Santa Clara C~unty, ~nd
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Intergovernmental Council has requested that
this city consider amending the Plan to include the Policy on Out-of-County
Solid Waste in the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County, and
WHEREAS, the Ik)ard of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara has heretofore
adopted a Negative Declaration under the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) in connection with said proposed revision and approved that amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Saratoga hereby finds and determines as follows:
1. The City of Saratoga as a responsible agency considered the environmental
effects of the proposed amendment as shown in the Negative Declaration.
2. The Policy on Importation of Solid Waste from Outside Santa Clara County,
an amendment to the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County, is
approved.
3. Concurrence in the principles and objectives of the said Plan is
reaffirmed.
4. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution
to the IGC Solid Waste Committee for Santa Clara County, c/o Cynthia
Sievers, Solid Waste Planning Program Coordinator, County Government
Center, 70 W. Hedding St., 7th Floor, East Wing, San Jose CA 95110.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Saratoga City Council held on ~he 7th day o'f October, 1987, by the
following vote:
AYES: Counciln~s Anderson, Clevenger, Hlava, Moyles, and Mayor Peterson
