RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
CHANGING THE NAME OF A CERTAIN STREET
WHEREAS, the City council has determined that an alley between the
Village Post Office and the Saratoga Fire District station presently
known as Broad Street should be named in honor of the long-time
Postmaster of the City of Saratoga, George Whalen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
Section 1: The name of the street known as Broad Street, in the City
of Saratoga, which was accepted as a public street of the City of
Saratoga on February 3, 1988, by Resolution No. 2466 is hereby changed
to George Whalen Way.
Section 2: This resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions of
Section 34091.1 of the California Government Code, and other
applicable laws, the City Council hereby finding that said street name
should be changed as hereinabove set forth.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 20th day of April,
1988, by the following vote:
