HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2524 RESOLUTION NO. 2524 CONCERNING BOB CLANCEY WHEREAS, Bob Clancey has been involved in Saratoga Cable Television since its earliest beginnings, having been recruited as the very first volunteer for the Saratoga TV Unit, and WHEREAS, Bob Clancey was appointed as a charter member of the Saratoga Community Access Policy Board consisting of representatives of the City and West Valley College in the fall of 1986, and WHEREAS, he was instrumental in transforming the Policy Board into the Saratoga Cable TV Community Access Foundation, a non- profit foundation, and has served as Chairman of its Board of Directors since it incorporated in February of 1988, and WHEREAS, for years Bob did most of the cable-casting on Channel 6 and participated in the production of most of its programs, remaining active on the TV Unit even after his appointment to the Policy Board, and WHEREAS, in this work he has often used his own personal equipment and video production resources for Channel 6 programs, making possible projects which could not otherwise be done, and WHEREAS, Bob Clancey has volunteered thousands of hours to the cause of local cable television, and richly deserved the "Saratoga Volunteer of the Year" award he received in 1988, and WHEREAS, Bob is now moving out of Saratoga and will be greatly missed, but we wish him well in his new endeavors as a very active retiree. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT BOB CLANCY has participated creatively and fully in the life of our City, and we commend and thank him for his years of service. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council held on December 7, 1988, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Clevenger, Peterson, Stutzman and Mayor Anderson NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember Moyles /s/ Karen Anderson Mayor ATTEST: /s/Grace E.
