RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
COMMENOING MARILYN KANEMURA
WHEREAS, Marilyn Kanemura has served on the Library Commission
for eight years, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanemura presided as chair of the commission from
February of 1985 to May of 1988, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanemura was nominated by the City Council for
appointment to the County Library Commission and appointed in
1988 as Supervisor Diane McKenna's representative, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanemura represented the Library Commission on the
Joint Task Force (with the Finance committee} studying the
feasibility of a city-operated library in 1985 and 1986, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanemura worked on behalf' of the Commission to
obtain additional funding from the City Council during the years
when there was a shortfall in the County Library System budget,
and
WHEREAS, she also worked on behalf of the Commission to obtain
additional funding from the City Council to provide for half-day
Sunday hours for the past three years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that
MARILYN KANEMURA
is hereby commended and thanked for her many hours of hard work
on the Library Commission.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 15th day of March,
1989, by the following vote:
