HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 94-48 RESOLUTION NO. 94-48 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AUTHORIZING STAFF PARTICIPATION IN A JOINT GRANTAPPLICATION WITH THE CITIES OF MONTE SERENO, LOS GATOSaNDCUPERTINOANDTHE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA TO THE ASSOCIATION OF BAY AREA GOVERNMENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLETING WESTERN SANTA CLARA COUNTY FOOTHILL SUBREGIONAL PILOT PROJECT. WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a policy and specific implementation program within the Open Space Element that directs staff to pursue a cooperative agreement with Santa Clara County concerning development in the unincorporated hillside, and WHEREAS, the cooperative agreement project appears on the City Council adopted work program for the Community Development Department, and WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments has solicited grant proposals for a collaborative subregional study, and WHEREAS, the Cities of Monte Sereno, Los Gatos, Cupertino and the County of Santa Clara have expressed a desire to participate in such an application to result in a study of the western foothill area, including Saratoga's unincorporated hillside area, and WHEREAS, the award of this grant could facilitate the implementation of the recently adopted Open Space Element policy and the direction of the City Council and Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes staff to participate in the application to the Association of Bay Area Governments for a grant to perform a Western Santa Clara County Foothills Subregional Pilot Project. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City Council at a meeting held on the 16th day of November, 1994, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers ~acobs, Moran, Tucker and Wolfe NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Burger [ayor Deputy CityC~l'rk abagres
