SELECTING MAJOR CITY STREETS IN
THE CITY OF SARATOGA
WHEREAS, the provisions of Sections 2050 to 2055, Chapter 2,
Division 3~ of the Streets and Highways Code provides that each
City Council shall select a system of major city streets, on the
basis of greatest general city importance, subject to the approval
of the State Department of Public Works~ and
WHEREAS~ streets may be included in or excluded from the
city system of major city streets subject to the approval in each
case of the State Department of Public Works~ and
WHEREAS, it is desired to revise the existing system to
conform to present and anticipated traffic patterns.
THEREFORE, it is resolved by the City Council of the City
of Saratoga
THAT the following named streets are Selected as major city
streets to be included in the major city street system:

1. Allendale Avenue from Fruitvale Avenue to Oulto Road,
2, Beaomont Avenue from Herr i man Avenue to Glasgow Drive.
3, B~ookglen Drive from Prospect Avenue to Cox Avenue.
4, Cumberland Drive from Cox Avenue to Scotland Drive.
5. (a) Dagmar Drive from Saratoga Avenue to Holiday Drive,
(b) /~lrren Drive from Holiday Drive to Portos Drive,
(C) Portos Drive from Myren Drive to Allendale Avenue.
6. (a) Douglas Lane from Fruitvale Avenue to LaPaloma Avenue.
(b) LaPaloma Avenue from Douglas Lane to Saratoga Avenue.
?. (a) Fourth Street from Big Basin Way to Canyon View Drive-
(b) Canyon View Drive from Fourth Street to Pike Road.
(c) Pike Road from Canyon View Drive to Pierce Road.
8. HUm Drive from Saratoga-Los Gatos Road to Glen Una Drive.
9. Miller Avenue from Cox Avenue to Prospect Avenue.
10. Mr. Eden Road from Pierce Road to West City Boundary.
11. Prospect Avenue from Northeast City Boundary to Saratoga-
Sunnyvale Road.
12. Prospect Road from Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road to Northwest
City Boundary.
13. San Marcos Road from Fruitvale Avenue to Sobey Road.
14. (a) Scotland Drive from Saratoga Avenue to Glasgow Drive.
(b) Glasgow Drive from Scotland Drive to Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.
15. Seagull Way from Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road to Cox Avenue.
16. Sobey Road from Quito Road to Quito Road.
17. Surrey Lane from Pierce Road to Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.
18. Unnamed Street from Prospect Road to Pierce Road.
PaSOLVED, further, that the State of California, Department
of Public Works, is hereby requested to approve the above revision
to the major city street system.
A~D FURTHER that all prior resolutions, or portions thereof,
establishing major city streets in conflict with this resolution
are hereby repealed.
T~is Resolution was duly passed and adopted by the Council
of the City of Saratoga at its regular meeting held on the 2_!st . day
of Feb:ruary = ..... ~ 1962, by the following vote:
