MV_-i RESOLUTION CONSOLIDATING C'ERTAIN MATTERS HERETOFORE GOVERNED BY ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC REGULATION, WITH REGARD TO RESTRICTED PARKING, TRAFFIC.SIGNALS, STOP INTERSECTIONS, ONE-WAY STREETS., AND SIMILAR SUBJECTS OF LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATION.. The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follows: ~ection......!: PARKING REGULATIONS. Section 1.1: No ... Park~nK Based UpOn an engineering and traffic study, the following designated streets and highways or portions of the same are hereby declared to be congestedareas, and the Council finding that prohibition of parking is necessary to facilitate the proper movement of traffic, the parking of motor vehicles is prohibited on the portions of the streets and highways hereinafter described: Na~e .of_Street. Description State Route 11~ Northwest corner of intersection of State Route ll4 and Saratoga Avenue State Route ~2 East side of State Route 42 from intersection with Park Plaza Place to intersection with State Route 11~. Oak Place Street and Beginning at the northeast corner Saratoga-Los Gatos of Lot 1, Block 1 of Saratoga Road Park Lots thence along the norther- ly line of Lot 1 West a distance oJ 93-36 ft. which line is also the Southerly line of Oak Place Street- to an iron pipe - thence on a southwesterly direction on a radium of 38°20 ft. a distance of 89°38 fl to a point which intercepts Saratoga-Los Gatos Road° Park Place The Easterly side of Park Place from a point 10' Southeasterly of the South line of Lot 4, Saratoga Park Lots to 5' North of the North line of Lot 2 of Saratoga Park Lots. Fourth Street From its intersection with Big Basin Way to its intersection with ' Saratoga Creek. Oak Street Southeast side of Oak St. fro~'a point 204' northeast of the inter- section df the northwest extension of the northeast property line of Komina Ave.,with the southeast curbline of Oak Sto,to a point 215 northeast of said intersection, an from a point 337' northeast of sai intersection to a point 348' north east of said intersection. Saratoga Circle Northwesterly side between Saratoga Avenue and Saratoga- Los Gatos Road. Section 1.2:. Limited Parking Based upon an engineering and traffic study, the following designated streets and highways or portions of the same in the City of Saratoga are hereby declared to be congested areas, and the following time limits for parking of motor vehicles are hereby established for the following portions of said streets and highways. (Big Basin Way) State Highway Route #42 (Big Basin Way)between Third Street and Fourth Street that have not previously been subjected to greater restrictions, under this resolution, or by Ordinance Code. State Highway Route 42 The Southwest side of Saratoga- 2 hr. (Saratoga-Los Gatos Los Gatos Road (State Route 42) Road) from Big Basin Way (State Route 42) to Oak Street'. Third Street The southwest side of Third 2 hr. Street from Big Basin Way to a point 165' southeasterly of Big Basin Way and the northeast side of Third Street from Big Basin · Way to a point 175' southeasterly of Big Basin Way. State Highway Route The north side of State Highway 15 min. 42 (Big Basin Wayl Route 42, from the point of intersection of the west curb line of Third Street, westerly a distance of 22 feet. Oak Street The Southeasterly side of 15 min. Oak Street from the boundary line of the library property to a point 93 feet northwesterly therefrom. Section 2: STOP SIGNS AND SIGNALS Section 2.1: The official traffic signal installed at the intersection of Cox Avenue and Saratoga Avenue, to control traffic at said intersection by standard form green, yellow and red lights, shall remain installed as an official traffic control signal of this City, and shall be regulated by the Director of Public Works to operate in conjunction with the normal traffic flow at said intersection. Section 2.2: The following highways of the City of Saratoga and listed below in column (1), are hereby designated through highways, and all vehicles approaching the respective highways from the streets named -2- opposite thereto and listed in column ,-(2) shall stop before entering or crossing the intersections with said through highways. The provisions of this section shall become effective at such time as stop signs are erected at the intersections at the locations indicated in column (3). Thelma Avenue Hammona Avenue Northwest and Southeast corners Section 2.3: The following intersections ofhighways in the City of Saratoga are hereby designated as stop intersections: Cox Avenue and Paseo Presada All vehicles traveling on Cox Avenue shall stop before entering or crossing the intersection thereof with Paseo'Presada, and all vehicles traveling on Paseo Presada shall stop before entering or crossing the intersection thereof with Cox Avenue. The provisions of this section shallbecome effective at such time as stop signs are erected in conformity herewith. Section 3: ONE-WAY STREETS "Sara r ' which runs in a norDheasterly direction from its point of intersection with the SaraLoga=Los GaLos Road, 200 feet more or, less to the point of its intersection with Saratoga Avenue, is hereby designated and established as a one-way street. Vehicles traveling on said Saratoga Circle shall proceed in a north- easterly direction only, and travel on said street in any other direction other than above designated is prohibited. The Director of Public Works is directed to maintain such traffic control signs and devices on said street as may be required to carry out the provisions of this section. Section!i This resolution shall become effective and operative at such time as Ordinance No. 38, the Ordinance of the City of Saratoga adopting "The Code of the City of Saratoga, California" becomes in full force and effect. For purpose of reference, this resolution super- sedes and consolidates the matters contained in Ordinances No. 4A-3, ~A-5-1, ~A-9, 4A-15, and parts of Ordinances No. 4A-13, 4A-14, ~A-16, ~A-20, 4A-22 and ~A-23, and Article~ 1, Chapter 2 of Title 10 of the Santa Clara County Ordinance Code formerly incorporated by reference by Ordinance No. 4A, and re-enacts the regulations contained in resolutions 138 and~ 168! of the City of Saratoga. The foregoing ordinances and parts of ordinances are to be repealed by the adoption of the Saratoga City Code, and resolutions 138 and 18 are super- seded and repealed by this resolution.
