RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THOSE PARTS OF FRUITVALE AVENUE,
HERRIMAN AVENUE, PROSPECT ROAD AND SARATOGA AVENUE
IN THE CITY OF SARATOGA AS THROUGH HIGHWAYS
The City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION I: That those portions of Fruitvale Avenue within the City Limits
of Saratoga between Saratoga Avenue and State Route ~9 (Saratoga/
Los Gatos Road), save and except the intersections thereof with Saratoga Avenue,
Allendale Avenue and State Route #9 {Saratoga/Los Gatos Road) and any other inter-
sections controlled by automatic traffic signal devices, be designated as through high-
ways and stop signs shall be erected at all entrances thereto, requiring all vehicles
to stop before entering or crossing said through highways.
SECTION II: That those portions of Herriman Avenue within the City Limits of
Saratoga between Saratoga Avenue and State Route #85 (Saratoga/
Sunnyvale Road), save and except the intersections thereof with State Route #85
(Saratoga/Sunnyvale Road) and Saratoga Avenue and any intersection controlled by
automatic traffic signal devices, be designated as through highways and stop signs
shall be erected at all entrances thereto, requiring all vehicles to stop before
entering or crossing said through highways.
SECTION III: That those portions of Prospect Road within the City Limits of
Saratoga between its intersection with the easterly City Limit line
and its intersection with the westerly City Limit line, save and except the intersections
thereof with State Route #85 (Saratoga/Sunnyvale Road), Lawrence Expressway and any
other intersection controlled by automatic traffic signal devices, be designated as
through highways and stop signs shall be erected at all entrances thereto, requiring
all vehicles to stop before entering or crossing said through highways.
SECTION IV: That those portions of Saratoga Avenue within the City Limits of
Saratoga between its intersection with the easterly City Limit line
and State Route #9 (Saratoga/Los Gatos Road), save and except the intersections with
Cox Avenue, Fruitvale Avenue, State Route #9 [Saratoga/Los Gatos Road-Big Basin Way)
and State Route ~85 (Saratoga/Sunnyvale Road) and any other intersection controlled by
automatic traffic signal devices, be designated as through highways and stop signs
shall be erected at all entrances thereto, requiring all vehicles to stop before
entering or crossing said through highways.
These Sections shall become effective at such time as the proper signs and/or
markings are installed.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 2nd day of February, 1977,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Bridges, Brigham, Corr, Kraus, Matteoni
