HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution MV-62 RESOLUTION MV-62 RESOLUrlON APPLYING VEHICLE CODE REGULATIONS TO PRIVATE ROAD WHEREAS, there exists within the City of Saratoga a hereinafter described private road which, after petition, notice, and public hearing this Council finds and determines should be subject to the provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State of California as hereinafter set forth, NOW, THEREFORE, under and pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 21107.7 of the State of California, the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby resolves as follow!8: Section 1: There has heretofore been filed with this City a petitio.n signed by a majority of the owners of the following described privately owned and maintained road located within the City of Saratoga, to-wit: Leonard Road requesting a finding and determination as hereinafter set forth, and the adoption of the within Resolution, and pursuant to said petition thereafter a public hearing has been held on the same by this Council, after ten (1O) days prior written notice to all the owners of said private road, and after said hearing this Council hereby finds and declares that said road is a privately owned and maintained road within this City, which is not generally held open for use of the public for purpose~ of vehicular traffic, but by reason of its proximity to and connection with Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road the interests of the residents residing along said road and the motoring public would best be served by application of the provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State of California to such road. Section 2: By reason of the foregoing, this Council hereby finds, determines and declares that henceforth the provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State of California shall apply to said Leonard = Road, and the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to install appropriate signs at all entrances to said road in such size, shape and color as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of 100 feet, said signs to state in effect that the road is subject to the regulations and provisions of said Vehicle Code. The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Saratoga held on the 18th day of April , 1973, by the following vote: AYES: C..,OunCilmen 8mi=th, Dw~er, Bridges, Diridan and Kraus NOES: !None ABSENT: No~e ~YOR ATTE5 .CLERK
